Al: Paradise Valley, AZ
This project takes place in Al’s home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Throughout Al’s home, we have furnished and installed multiple rustic doors and custom wrought iron lighting fixtures to accentuate the already present Spanish feel of the home.
Beginning with the outside of this home, we have created two large garage doors. Bringing a great Hacienda presence to the home, these beautiful garage doors are made from solid alder wood and feature classic, Spanish arched tops. Accented by hand forged custom wrought iron grills, handles, and clavos, these rustic doors hold traditional elements of Spanish design. These garage doors, made to look like original doors, carry an Old World feel with a modern use, and are only the beginning touches to this home.
The royal Spanish entryway we have designed for Al’s home has Al and his guests feel as is they are entering a palace. The open space of the entry leads to these attention-grabbing rustic style doors, made complete with hand-forged custom wrought iron accents, textured glass, and a distinctive arched top. Combining a masculine build with feminine scrolls, these doors create a unique and inviting appearance. Surrounded by a Cantera casing and a wrought iron lighting pendant, this magnificent entryway is meant to impress, while still staying true to the Old World Spanish roots.
Throughout Al’s home, we have created a cohesive flow of custom wrought iron elements. From the exterior and interior railings, to the lighting fixtures, a Spanish Art Nouveau influence is carried throughout the home.
Friends and family are invited to relax and enjoy the fresh air on the upstairs balcony of Al’s home, where we have installed hand-forged wrought iron railings. These wrought iron rails have been delicately bent and curved to create their organic, spiral design. With added leaves and pendants, these railings have a beautiful ornamental touch.
As Al ascends the smooth wooden staircase in the interior of his home, he will find himself not just moving from one floor to another, but floating through a space filled with Spanish charm. Smooth to the touch and made from hand-forged wrought iron, these interior hand railings feature custom banister posts and more Spanish scroll designs, as well as added large floral pendants.
The high ceilings with exposed wooden support beams in Al’s home are a definitive characteristic of Spanish style architecture. To enhance this favored architectural style, we have added hand-forged wrought iron chandeliers to multiple rooms of his home. Featuring beautiful scroll designs and consistent with those in and around the home, these intricate chandeliers prove to be statement pieces, being both aesthetic and functional.
Al and his guests can move from room to room, as well as in and out, through rustic interior doors in his home. To harmonize with the rest of the surroundings, we worked together with Al to create interior and exterior doors that would provide a balance between need, space, and form throughout the home. Each custom door installed, from bedroom to closet to bathroom, showcases a signature Spanish arched top featuring a double raised panel design.
The final interior door, a pantry door completing the newly remodeled kitchen, also showcases these elements, but instead, has textured glass above a single panel. The exterior doors, leading in and out of Al’s spacious backyard, are classic rustic double doors similar to the interior doors. These beautiful French doors were custom made with glass tops to maximize the inside view of Al’s beautiful backyard landscape.
The last and final touches to Al’s home are exterior window fixtures and grills, as well as lighting fixtures.
Surrounded by a Cantera casing, these arched topped windows finish off the continual Spanish style design throughout the home. Maximizing the space and allowing for generous amounts of light to shine through, these large windows bring a warm light to the dark woods and stains of our classic Spanish furniture pieces. Also added to several windows of the home, are hand-forged wrought iron grills and Cantera casings.
Brightening up the spaces, we have also added several exterior lighting fixtures to accent this home. From the garage doors to the entryway, and from the balcony to the backyard areas, Al will find a range of our hand-forged wrought iron wall mounts and pendants. All featuring scroll designs and textured glass, these lighting fixtures accentuate the Old World feel of this Spanish home.
Architect Frank Gehry once said, “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness”.
With the architecture and design of Al’s home, we feel as if we have made this quote come to life. Just as each person has a personality, each home has a character. The classic Spanish style design elements brought to this home give it a refreshing new appeal, ideal for everyday life and enjoying the company of others.
