Mexican and Spanish Furniture for Santa Clarita Homes

Santa Clarita is one of DeMejico’s closest neighbors. Our Valencia showroom is right here in the SCV, which means residents of Santa Clarita, Newhall, Stevenson Ranch, Saugus, and Canyon Country have direct access to the full collection without a long drive.

That matters more than it sounds. Buying furniture for a significant room or a custom door is not something you do from a photograph. You need to see the wood grain, feel the weight of a chair, understand how the iron hardware actually looks at arm’s length. The SCV being minutes from the showroom makes that easier.

Why Santa Clarita Homes Work Well With This Furniture

The housing stock in Santa Clarita includes a lot of Spanish-influenced architecture. Tile roofs, stucco exteriors, arched entryways. That architectural language came from somewhere, and the furniture traditions of Mexico and colonial Spain are part of the same lineage.

Spanish Colonial furniture fits this context naturally. The carved details, the dark solid wood, the iron hardware are not decorations applied to a neutral base. They are part of a coherent design tradition that the architecture of many SCV homes already speaks.

Rustic Mexican furniture works in these homes for different reasons. It brings warmth and character to rooms that can feel too finished or too new. A dining table made from reclaimed pine or mesquite with visible knots and natural edge variation ages the space in a way that feels earned.

Rustic Furniture for SCV Homes

Rustic furniture is one of the most in-demand categories we see across the Santa Clarita Valley. The interest makes sense. SCV homes — from newer builds in Valencia to older properties in Newhall and Canyon Country — often have the warm, textured interiors that rustic wood furniture was built for.

The rustic pieces DeMejico builds use reclaimed and old-growth wood with natural character built in. Mesquite with deep grain and color variation. Reclaimed pine from structures that are no longer standing. These are materials that carry their age visibly. A rustic dining table or a reclaimed wood media console from DeMejico is not styled to look old. It is made from wood that actually is.

That distinction matters if you have ever walked into a furniture store and noticed that the “rustic” pieces all look identical. Handmade work from real materials does not look identical. Each piece is one of a kind.

What We Build

Every piece in the DeMejico collection is made from 100% solid wood. No plywood cores. No MDF wrapped in veneer. The wood you see on the surface is the wood throughout.

Joinery is mortise and tenon, reinforced with dowelling. This is how furniture was built before modern production shortcuts became standard. It is also why pieces built this way last for generations and can be repaired when needed, rather than replaced.

Iron work on the furniture is hand-forged. Clavos, hinges, handles, decorative strapping. Each piece of hardware is made by a person, which means no two are exactly identical.

Leather, where it appears on equipale chairs or tooled surfaces, is hand-tooled at the piece level.

Doors and Lighting for SCV Homes

Hand-carved doors are a common request from Santa Clarita and SCV homeowners. A custom exterior door in solid wood changes the face of a house in a way that a standard replacement door does not.

We build arched doors, double doors, doors with iron clavos and forged hinges, doors with carved panels. The construction matches the furniture: solid wood, traditional joinery, hardware built to last.

Wrought iron wall sconces, chandeliers, and pendant lights are also part of the collection. Hand-forged iron lighting works well in the Spanish and Mediterranean-style homes common throughout the SCV.

Working With Homeowners and Designers

DeMejico works directly with homeowners and with interior designers doing projects in Santa Clarita and across the Santa Clarita Valley. For designers, the showroom is worth a visit to understand what is in stock and what can be customized.

Most pieces are available from inventory. Custom work is possible on doors and on specific furniture dimensions when a standard piece will not fit a room.

The showroom is in Valencia, minutes from the heart of Santa Clarita. Over 30,000 square feet, open for browsing. No appointment needed.
